So I'm waiting for the carpet cleaner to show to let him in next door. This good deed was going astray after an hour ..and without his cell phone number. Started going down the "the world revolves around me" impatient path but realized it and stopped.
I figured I had at least 2 choices; 1. find a way around the problem or 2. relax and let it be. I did have an appointment, but with flexible time. Oh, I had plenty to keep me busy as I waited. I've been trying to see my life from a bigger world view, and my thinking was, "what if the reason he was late was much more important than my needs?" What if he spent extra time playing with his daughter this morning on her birthday? What if he was delayed because of comforting his sister whose son is in Iraq? Or what if????
When we zoom out on our current situation, many times it's much easier to "see" life for all it's beauty and appreciate how we interconnect. It's a much truer way to see the world.
