In a recent conference call on his best selling book, "The Attractor Factor," Joe Vitale shared a thought about being "attached" to our needs and wants. He said we must be clear in thinking what we want. Then, we detach ourselves from our want, so we don't come across as being needy - our emotional baggage is attached to that want. Let it go.
Let me explain. If a sales presentation (could be a product, relationship, or vacation persuasion) is done without us being attached, it can be light, even playful, and full of energy. But if we attach ourselves by thinking, "I really need this sale or to make this point," that neediness and negative energy will subtly come across to the other person.
I didn't swallow this one right away, but as I applied it to a couple of my past situations, I believe Joe has taught me a valuable tool. Sure hope it helped you too.
